Clayton Street East |

The buildings on the left are part of Eldon Square's Green Market. You can see more of Eldon Square blocking the end of the street. The Grainger Market is on the right.
Clayton Street was built in 1837 by Richard Grainger and used to join up with Blackett Street, making a formal approach to the original Eldon Square. The square was designed by architects John Dobson and Thomas Oliver and built by Grainger between 1825 and 1831. |
