Emerson Chambers, Blackett Street |
Blackett Street was built in 1824 and followed the line of the north section of the old town wall.
The ornate Emerson Chambers was designed by the architect Benjamin Simpson. It was constructed in 1903 and is currently occupied by Waterstones, the book store (formerly Dillons). The Art Deco building to the left (with four flagpoles on the roof) is part of the Fenwick department store. |
